Tb-Y

Tb-Y (Terbium-Yttrium) K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood The assessed phase diagram for the Tb-Y system is based primarily on the work of [67Mar]. Because their values for the melting point of Y (1502 C vs 1522 C) and for the transition (cph = bcc) temperature of both metals (Tb, 1317 C vs 1289 C and Y, 1490 C vs 1478 C) do not agree with the accepted values for the pure metals as listed in [Gschneidner], the melting and transition temperatures of the alloys were adjusted on the basis of composition. Only the solidus line has been established by experimental data. The other phase boundaries are presented as dashed lines that conform to the anticipated phase relationships. Complete solid solubility exists at all compositions below the solidus, including a narrow bcc single-phase region at high temperatures and a cph structure at lower temperatures. 67Mar: I.A.
