Si-Y

Si-Y (Silicon-Yttrium) A.B. Gokhale and G.J. Abbaschian The assessed phase diagram for the Y-Si system is based on the work of [61Lun]. The equilibrium diagram proposed by [61Lun] has been modified as follows. The liquidus is indicated as being uncertain in the assessed diagram because the techniques utilized by [61Lun] would not yield accurate liquidus data. A polymorphic transformation for Y3Si5 is shown at 450 C [59Per1]. In addition, aYSi2 and bYSi2 are included. There is some controversy about the existence of these phases. [61Gsc] stated that the solid solubilities of Y in (Si) and Si in (Y) are 0.01 wt.%, but did not specify the source. No other data were found in the literature. 59Par: E.
