Se-Zn

Se-Zn (Selenium-Zinc) R.C. Sharma and Y.A. Chang The assessed Zn-Se phase diagram is a calculated diagram based on thermodynamic modeling, with review of the data of [68Rub] and [80Kik]. An associated solution model was used to describe the thermodynamic properties of the liquid. The liquid miscibility gap and the monotectic reaction in the Zn-ZnSe region were predicted by the phase diagram calculations. A similar liquid miscibility gap exists in the Zn-Te system in the Zn-ZnTe region [87Sha]. The mutual solid solubilities of Zn and Se have not been measured and are most likely negligible. aZnSe is essentially stoichiometric. The assessed congruent melting point of aZnSe is 1526 C. [76Kul] observed some evidence of a first- order phase transition in aZnSe at ~1425 C, but there is no further information on this transition. aZnSe (B3-type) transforms to bZnSe (B1-type) at high pressure [62Sam, 65Smi, 75Pie]. The transition pressure at room temperature is ~165 kbar, according to [62Sam], or 137 с 4 kbar, according to [75Pie]. The transition is accompanied by a decrease of ~28% in volume [65Smi]. Under certain deposition conditions, ZnSe prepared by vapor deposition is metastable, with hexagonal B4-type structure [66Sha, 65Par]. 62Sam: G.A. Samara and H.G. Drickamer, J. Phys. Chem.
