Ru-Zr (Ruthenium-Zirconium) H. Okamoto The assessed phase diagram for the Ru-Zr system was determined approximately by [63Rau] and more accurately by [88Ere] by means of metallographic, thermal, and X-ray analyses. According to an X-ray spectral analysis by [88Ere], the maximum solubility of Zr in (Ru) is 1.9 at.% at the L = (Ru) + Ru2Zr eutectic temperature of 1715 C. The solubility decreases to 0.5 at.% at 1050 C, which was determined by [ 54Hel] from the composition dependence of lattice parameters. About 11 at.% Ru dissolves in (bZr) at 1240 C, according to X-ray investigations [80Ere]. The L + RuZr = Ru2Zr peritectic temperature is 1825 C [88Ere], considerably lower than 1960 с 50 C, reported by [63Rau]. The former value is accepted, because the latter temperature would result in a strongly asymmetrical RuZr liquidus. 42Wal: H.J.
