Rh-Y

Rh-Y (Rhodium-Yttrium) Editor Eight intermediate compounds have been reported. Rh5Y is stable only at elevated temperatures [73Gha] (Rh5Y decomposes into (Rh) and Rh3Y at 900 C). Rh3Y forms by a peritectoid reaction, because it does not exist in the as-cast state [73Gha]. Composition dependence of the lattice parameter observed by [ 73Gha] suggests that the Rh2Y phase has an appreciable solubility range. [ Moffatt] proposed a schematic phase diagram based on this information and assuming a similarity to the Gd-Rh system. The Rh-Y diagram is from [Moffatt] with modifications regarding the temperature range of existence of Rh5Y and Rh3Y.-H.O. 59Com: V.B. Compton and B.T.
