Re-Si (Rhenium-Silicon) A.B. Gokhale and G.J. Abbaschian The assessed Re-Si phase diagram is based almost entirely on [82Jor], whose work is considered to be the most reliable. The temperature measurements of [ 82Jor] appear to be accurate, because their measured Si melting temperature was within 2 C of the currently accepted value. [68Set] indicated that the solid solubility of Si in (Re) extends to approximately 10 at.% Si. This was confirmed by [82Jor], who indicated a maximum solid solubility of 10 at.% Si at the eutectic temperature (1710 с 5 C). [82Jor] determined the solid solubility limit by carrying out superconducting transition temperature (Tc), X-ray parametric, and metallographic measurements. [82Jor] found that the Tc increases monotonically from 1.72 K for pure Re to 5.2 K at the phase limit. [58Kna] indicated the solid solubility of Re in (Si) to be negligible. This was confirmed by [82Jor]; according to their results, the maximum solid solubility of Re in (Si) is well below 1 at.% Re at the eutectic temperature ( 1380 с 5 C). 58Kna: A.G.
