Pu-W (Plutonium-Tungsten) S. Pandian, S.V. Nagender Naidu, and P. Rama Rao The assessed Pu-W phase diagram is based on [68Ell], with review of the data of [59Sch] and [61Sch]. Above 950 C, the liquidus is shown by a dotted line because of a lack of experimental data. [59Sch], [61Sch], [Elliott], and [Moffatt] are contradictory about the existence of a eutectic in the Pu-W system. Although the experimental data are not clear, the presence of the same reaction as in the analogous Pu-Mo system is provisionally suggested. Because of contradictory reports and in the absence of clear evidence for the existence of any compound, it is suggested that there is no intermetallic compound in the Pu-W system.
