Ni-Re

Ni-Re (Nickel-Rhenium) A. Nash and P. Nash The assessed Ni-Re phase diagram is based on the work of [70Sav] and [72Sav]. [ 70Sav] showed that the phase equilibrium involves a peritectic reaction at 1620 C and 17.4 at.% Re, creating a two-phase region (Ni) + (Re). The (Ni) region extends up to 17.4 at.% Re, and the (Re) region extends down to 82.3 at. % Re at the peritectic temperature 1620 C. On cooling below the peritectic temperature to 800 C, the solubility of Ni in (Re) is 14.3 at.% Ni and does not change greatly with temperature. For Ni-Re alloys containing 0.17, 0.77, 1.61 and 2.96 at.% Re, [64Kir] found that the form of the variation of the specific electrical resistance with concentration was characteristic of the formation of solid solutions. The specific resistance increased with Re content, and the specific resistence- temperature curves showed inflections at the Curie points (~656 K). 64Kir: P.I. Kirichenko and V.E.
