Nd-Tm

Nd-Tm (Neodymium-Thulium) K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood Lattice parameter studies were conducted by [62Spe], who indexed the powder pattern of a Nd-37 at.% Tm alloy as a mixture of dcph and d structures. [66Jay] studied pressure-induced transformation in a NdTm alloy that was considerably less rich in Tm than Nd0.5Tm0.5, due to loss of Tm as vapor in the preparation of their alloy. The Sm-type phase appears to be centered at Nd0.63Tm0.37. This alloy had the d-type structure under normal conditions, but transformed to the dcph structure during treatment for 5 h at 40 kbar and 450 C.
