Nd-Ni (Neodymium-Nickel) Y.Y. Pan and P. Nash The assessed phase diagram for the Nd-Ni system is based primarily on the work of [85Pan]. Eight compounds occur-Nd3Ni, Nd7Ni, NdNi, NdNi2, NdNi3, Nd2Ni7, NdNi5, and Nd2Ni17. Nd2Ni7 forms peritectically at 1300 C and decomposes by a eutectoid reaction into Ni and NdNi5 at 1250 C. Nd3Ni, NdNi, and NdNi5 melt congruently at 590, 780, and 1420 C, respectively. The congruent melting point of Nd7Ni3 is ~616 C. Neither Nd nor Ni exhibit any mutual solid solubility. 85Pan: Y.Y.
