Na-Ti

Na-Ti (Sodium-Titanium) C.W. Bale There are no published data for the Na-Ti phase diagram. By analogy with Na-Zr and with the other alkali metal-group IVa systems, it is speculated in the assessed phase diagram that the system is almost completely immiscible in both the solid and liquid states. If the solubilities are very limited, it follows from thermodynamic calculations that the univariant temperatures in the phase diagram are virtually coincidental with the transformation temperatures of the pure components. From vapor pressure calculations, at 2000 C the composition of the gas phase at 1 atm is estimated to be approximately 0.038 at.% Ti in equilibrium with almost pure liquid Ti. Published in Bull. Alloy Phase Diagrams, 10(2), Apr 1989, and Phase Diagrams of Binary Titanium Alloys, 1987. Complete evaluation contains 1 figure, 1 table, and 2 references. 1
