Mg-Pr

Mg-Pr (Magnesium-Praseodymium) A.A. Nayeb-Hashemi and J.B. Clark The assessed Mg-Pr phase diagram is based on a review of the experimental data [Hansen, 33Can, 57Par, 71Boc]. The (Mg) liquidus is taken from [71Boc], and the eutectic point is placed at 4.65 с 0.25 at.% Pr and 575 с 2 C. The compound involved in the Mg-rich eutectic is Mg12Pr. The maximum solid solubility of Pr in (Mg) is 0.09 at.% [57Par]. [65Jos] determined the solid solubility of Mg in (aPr) to be 9.2 at.% Mg (90.8 at.% Pr) at the eutectoid decomposition temperature of (bPr) (528 C). At 4.2 to 300 K with magnetic fields of up to 18 kOe, MgPr exhibited an antiferromagnetic behavior, with a N‚el temperature of 48 K and an asymptotic Curie temperature of -9 K [73Bus]. Mg2Pr showed Curie-Weiss behavior with a Curie temperature of 9.6 K [78Bus]. Mg3Pr showed no magnetic ordering and the asymptotic Curie temperature was found to be -42 K [76Bus]. 33Can: G.
