K-V (Potassium-Vanadium) J.F. Smith and K.J. Lee Molten alkali metals have been considered thermodynamic working fluids for a number of specialized applications. In particular, K has been considered for use in advanced space power systems. On this basis, K interaction with transition metals is of interest. The assessed phase diagram for the K-V system was obtained by thermodynamic optimization of the solubility data of [ 69Ste]. It was assumed that the solubility of K in solid V was negligible up to the melting point of V. The diagram represents the phase equilibria at a constant pressure of 1 atm. 69Ste: S. Stecura, Rep.
