K-Mg (Potassium-Magnesium) A.D. Pelton The assessed phase diagram for the K-Mg system is based on review of the work of [08Smi], [67Kle], and [73Lan]. The boundaries in the present diagram were calculated from an expression for the activity coefficient of Mg relative to the pure liquid standard state. The K-Mg system exhibits immiscibility in the liquid phase, with negligible solubility of K in liquid Mg and around 1 at.% solubility of Mg in liquid K. Solubility in the solids is negligibly small.
