Ir-Ru (Iridium-Ruthenium) H. Okamoto The Ir-Ru phase diagram was proposed by [88Ere], based on thermal, X-ray, and metallographic investigations. [64Rau] also determined the (Ir) and (Ru) solvus boundaries of the Ir-Ru phase diagram, based on X-ray and metallographic investigations. [88Ere] and [64Rau] are in good agreement. The equilibrium phases are (1) the liquid, L; (2) the fcc terminal solid solution, (Ir); and (3) the cph terminal solid solution, (Ru). The solubility limit of Ir in (Ru) is 49 at.% at 2395 C [88Ere]. An X-ray diffraction pattern of the Ru-rich phase in the two-phase alloy with 45 at.% Ru showed side bands, which are due to spinodal decomposition [64Rau]. 64Rau: E. Raub, Z.
