In-Mg

In-Mg (Indium-Magnesium) A.A. Nayeb-Hashemi and J.B. Clark The assessed Mg-In phase diagram, in the composition range of 0 to 20 at.% In, is taken from [38Hum], with minor adjustments. The liquidus and solidus of the b phase and the (In) phase are based on the work of [48Ray], [68Hir], [69Pic], and [76Fes]. In the solid state, the phases and boundaries are based on [48Ray] , [68Hir], [69Pic], and [75Wat], with modifications based on the work of [ 76Fes]. There is a strong tendency for segregation in this system, because the density of In is more than four times that of Mg. Segregation lowers the solidus temperatures and is more severe where the gap between the solidus and liquidus is wider. 38Hum: W. Hume-Rothery and G.V. Raynor, J. Inst.
