In-K (Indium-Potassium) A.D. Pelton and S. Larose The assessed In-K phase diagram is based on the experimental work of [70Thu], [ 74Yat], and [85Mei]. The diagram is very similar to the Ga-Na diagram. [70Thu], while indicating a very flat liquidus for Na concentrations from 60 to 90 at.%, did not give evidence of liquid immiscibility. On the other hand, [ 74Yat] observed thermal arrests at 436 C from 45 to 80 at.% Na, indicating a monotectic invariant associated with a liquid miscibility gap. [85Mei] obtained evidence for a two-liquid region. The miscibility gap in the assessed diagram is drawn from 58 to 90 at.% K at the monotectic temperature, which is the extent of the miscibility gap in the assessed Ga-Na system [90Pel]. According to [85Mei], their results confirmed the existence of an immiscibility region for compositions between 58 and 90 at.% K, although they did not state how they arrived at these limits. At the eutectic temperatures at either end of the assessed diagram, the solubilities in the liquid solutions are so small that the eutectic temperatures would be indistinguishable from the melting points of the pure elements. 69Bru: G.
