Ho-Mg

Ho-Mg (Holmium-Magnesium) A.A. Nayeb-Hashemi and J.B. Clark The Mg-Ho phase diagram, which has not been determined except for the Mg-rich side, is expected to be similar to that of the Mg-Er system. However, the presence of three intermetallic compounds-Mg24Ho5, Mg2Ho, and MgHo-has been reported. The assessed phase diagram in the Mg-rich region (0 to 13 at.% Ho) is based on the work of [78Rok], and the remainder of the diagram is based on the data of [64Kri], [64Mil], [67Kri], and [73Spe] and on extrapolation from the homologous Mg-Gd system. The maximum solid solubility at 565 C (eutectic temperature) was placed by extrapolation at 5.44 at.% Ho [78Rok]. The solid solubility of Mg in (Ho) has not been determined, but is estimated to be ~13 at.% Mg [65Jos]. 64Kri: P.I. Kripyakevich, V.I. Evdokimenko, and E.I.
