Hg-Se (Mercury-Selenium) R.C. Sharma and Y.A. Chang The assessed Hg-Se phase diagram was obtained by thermodynamic modeling, with review of the data of [62Str] and [71Paj], except for the homogeneity range of aHgSe, determined experimentally by [79Boc] and [86Boc]. In the Hg-Se system, the intermediate phase aHgSe exists at ~50 at.% Se, and melts congruently. The mutual solid solubilities of Hg and Se have not been determined experimentally and are most likely to be negligible. aHgSe transforms to bHgSe at higher pressures [62Kaf, 63Jay, 63Mar, 64Por]. The aHgSe <259> bHgSe transition pressure was determined to be 7.5 kbar by [ 62Kaf], 7.5 с 1.5 kbar by [64Por], and 7 kbar by [63Jay] at room temperature and 7.5 kbar by [63Jay] at 146 C.
