Hf-K (Hafnium-Potassium) C.W. Bale Although there are no published data on the Hf-K phase diagram, it is assumed that the system is almost completely immiscible in both the solid and liquid states, similar to the K-Ti, K-Zr, and other alkali metal-group IVa systems. The univariant temperatures are also assumed to be virtually coincidental with the transition temperatures of the pure components, as determined by thermodynamic calculations. From vapor pressure calculations, at 2000 C, the composition of the gas phase at 1 atm is estimated to be approximately 0.00005 at.% Hf in equilibrium with almost pure bHf. Published in Bull.
