Ge-P

Ge-P (Germanium-Phosphorus) R.W. Olesinski, N. Kanani, and G.J. Abbaschian At a pressure of 46 bar, the Ge-P system is characterized by a peritectic reaction at 725 C and a eutectic reaction, probably at 577 C. The solid solubility of P in (Ge) is retrograde, with a maximum solubility of 0.16 at.% P around 800 C; the solid solubility of Ge in (P) is probably negligible. The assessed phase diagram is based on review of the work of [75Fis], [75Gon], and [78Uga]. The liquidus in the assessed diagram was determined using the thermodynamic data of [78Uga], assuming that the Ge-P mutual solubility in the solid state is nil. The assessed phase diagram is valid under a pressure that guarantees melting rather than sublimation of P in the given temperature ranges. Minimum pressure necessary to achieve melting is about 46 bar. 75Fis: V.I. Fistul, A.G. Yakovenko, A.A. Gvelesiani, V.N. Tsygankov, and R.L. Korchazhkina, Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Neorg.
