Er-Mg

Er-Mg (Erbium-Magnesium) A.A. Nayeb-Hashemi and J.B. Clark The Mg-Er system is characterized by the existence of three intermetallic compounds-MgEr, Mg2Er, and Mg24Er5. The Mg-rich portion of the assessed phase diagram is based on the work of [78Rok], and the remainder of the system is based on the data of [64Mil], with some modifications. The maximum solubility of Er in (Mg) is 6.9 at.% Er. There is significant solid solubility of Mg in (Er). According to [65Jos], the maximum solid solubility of Mg in (Er) is estimated to be ~13 at.% Mg. 64Mil: A.E. Miller and A.H. Daane, Trans. AIME, 230, 568-572 (1964). 65Jos: R.R. Joseph and K.A. Gschneidner, Jr., Trans. AIME, 233, 2063-2069 ( 1965). 78Rok: L.L. Rokhlin, N.F. Nikitina, and Z.K. Zolina, Metalloved. Term. Obrab. Met., (7), 15-18 (1978) in Russian; TR: UDC 669, 721-868.
