Er-Ir (Erbium-Iridium) H. Okamoto An Er-Ir phase diagram was proposed by [Moffatt] with the assumption that it was similar to the La-Ir and Ce-Ir systems. In addition to terminal phases, six intermediate phases have been reported: Er3Ir [79Ler]; Er5Ir2 [80Ler2]; Er5Ir3 [80Ler1, 82Ler]; Er3Ir2 [82Ler]; ErIr [65Dwi]; and ErIr2 [59Boz]. According to [89Bla], Er5Ir3 is found in four polymorphic forms: high- temperature Mn5Si3 type; low-temperature Pu5Rh3 type; Er5Ir3 type on the Ir- rich side; and Er5Rh3 type on the Er-rich side. However, the phase boundaries and relative stability of these polymorphs are unknown. The ferromagnetic Curie temperature of ErIr2 is 3 K [59Boz]. 59Boz: R.M. Bozorth, B.T. Matthias, H. Suhl, E.
