Dy-La

Dy-La (Dysprosium-Lanthanum) Editor A likely form of the Dy-La phase diagram was provided by [Moffatt] based on the following information. [74Kri], who measured lattice spacings in this system, reported approximate phase boundaries at room temperature. Arc melted samples were annealed 14 days at 200 C to convert the fcc phase to the appropriate cph hexagonal structures (cph, d, and dcph). The fcc phase is stable above 280 C. They suggested that the cph phase exists from 0 to 62 at.% La, the d phase from 62 to 79 at.% La, and the dcph phase from 79 to 100 at.% La.-H.O. 74Kri: H. Krizek and K.N.R. Taylor, J. Less-Common Met., 38, 263 (1974). This updates the evaluation by K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood published in Bull. Alloy Phase Diagrams, 2(4), Mar 1982. Complete evaluation contains 2 figures and 2 references. 1
