Dy-In (Dysprosium-Indium) H. Okamoto The assessed Dy-In phase diagram is based primarily on the experimental data of [81Kuv], with review of the work of [74Die]. The accuracy of the temperature scale may be no better than с5 C, because all quoted temperatures were rounded to the nearest 10 C. The equilibrium phases are (1) the liquid, L; (2) the (bDy) and (aDy) terminal solid solutions, with ~18 and ~8 at.% solid solubility of In, respectively; (3) Ni2In-type Dy2In, which melts congruently at 1260 C; (4) Si3W5-type Dy5In3, which melts peritectically at 1220 C; (5) CsCl-type DyIn, with a congruent melting point at 1300 C; (6) Pd5Pu3-type Dy3In5, which melts congruently at 1140 C; (7) AuCu3-type DyIn3, which melts congruently at 1150 C; and (8) the (In) terminal solid solution, with no known homogeneity range. CuTi3-type Dy3In was reported by [61Bae]. [81Kuv] did not detect this phase. Dy3In is an unusual phase in the series of lanthanide-In phase diagrams. Because all other features of the Dy-In diagram are very similar to those of Gd-In, Tb-In, Ho-In, and Er-In, the existence of Dy3In is doubtful. The N‚el temperature of DyIn is 120 K [76Let].
