Cl-Ni (Chlorine-Nickel) H. Okamoto The existence of NiCl2 was reported by [26Bru]. [Moffatt] prepared a Ni-Cl phase diagram based on information given by [58Joh] that the L = (Ni) + NiCl2 eutectic point is at 64.5 at.% Cl and 977.5 C. The (Ni) liquidus was drawn by connecting the eutectic point and the melting point of Ni with a smooth curve. However, the van't Hoff relationship requires a much steeper (-14.2 C/at.%) initial slope for the (Ni) liquidus. It is probable that there is a liquid miscibility gap with a monotectic reaction at a temperature slightly below the melting point of Ni, as shown in the assessed diagram. 26Bru: G. Bruni and A.
