Cd-Y

Cd-Y (Cadmium-Yttrium) K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood The assessed Y-Cd phase diagram is based primarily on the data of [69Ryb]. The system is characterized by the presence of six compounds, only five of which were reported by [69Ryb]. The missing compound, Y13Cd58 (81.7 at.% Cd), probably decomposes peritectically at ~760 C, similar to the phase relationships observed in the Gd-Cd system. [65Vel] included the Y-YCd eutectic in their estimates of RE-RECd eutectic temperatures. For this system, they estimated that the eutectic temperature lies between 765 and 863 C. The mean temperature, 814 C, is shown in the assessed diagram as a dashed line. 65Vel: E. Veleckis and E.
