Cd-Eu (Cadmium-Europium) K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood The assessed Eu-Cd phase diagram is based primarily on the work of [65Kos], with review of the work of [73Bru]. The system is characterized by the existence of seven intermetallic compounds. Eu6Cu5, EuCd2, Eu3Cd8, Eu14Cd51, and Eu13Cd58 melt congruently; EuCd6 and EuCd11 melt incongruently. [68Kos] found no solubility of Eu in Cd. The behavior of Eu with Cd is more that of an alkaline earth than that of a trivalent RE metal. 65Kos: W. K”ster and J. Meixner, Z.
