Bi-Mn

Bi-Mn (Bismuth-Manganese) Editor The liquidus boundaries of the Bi-Mn phase diagram were determined by [19Sie], [56Sey], [63Dan], and [63Wac]. The L2 = L1 + (dMn) monotectic reaction occurs ~10 C below the melting point of dMn [19Sie]. The ferromagnetic transition of BiMn at about 350 C [40Thi] is associated with a phase transformation [ 74Che]. The chemical formula of high-temperature bBiMn is BiMn1.08 [74Che]. The existence of tetragonal Bi2Mn [39Hal] and orthorhombic Bi3Mn2 [38Fur] has not been confirmed.-H.O. 19Sie: P. Siebe, Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem., 108, 161-171 (1919) in German. 38Fur: U. Furst and F.
