Ba-Ga (Barium-Gallium) V.P. Itkin and C.B. Alcock The assessed phase diagram for the Ba-Ga system is based on the work of [66Bru] . The lattice parameter of Ba does not change with composition in Ba-rich alloys [66Bru]. This indicates a very small solubility of Ga in (Ba). The solubility of Ba in (Ga) is assumed to be very small. The peritectic formation of Ba-Ga is extremely slow. Three months' annealing at 400 C were not sufficient to obtain a completely homogeneous sample. An approximate formula Ba10-12Ga was ascribed to this compound by [ 66Bru]. A more accurate formula, Ba10Ga, was determined by [79For]. BaGa2 does not have a measurable homogeneity range [66Bru].
