Ba-Be

Ba-Be (Barium-Beryllium) H. Okamoto, L.E. Tanner, V.P. Itkin, and C.B. Alcock The assessed (calculated) diagram for the Be-Ba system is a tentative diagram derived from a thermodynamic model based on the data of [67Kle]. The transformation and melting points of Be are 1270 с 6 and 1289 с 5 C, respectively [Melt]. Be13Ba forms when solid Be is suspended in liquid Ba and probably has a high melting point [67Kle]. The reaction type of the formation of (Ba) from the liquid is not known. The Be13Ba liquidus curve on the Ba-rich side has a sigmoidal shape, indicating that metastable liquid immiscibility exists at lower temperatures, but this has not been verified experimentally. 67Kle: W.
