Au-Rh

Au-Rh (Gold-Rhodium) H. Okamoto and T.B. Massalski The equilibrium phases of the Au-Rh system are (1) the liquid, L, with a miscibility gap, L1 + L2; (2) the fcc terminal solid solution, (Au), with about 1.6 at.% solid solubility of Rh in (Au); and (3) the fcc terminal solid solution, (Rh), with about 0.5 at.% solid solubility of Au in (Rh). The relatively small solubility limit of Rh in (Au) and the solubility limit of less that 1 at.% of Au in (Rh) were reported by [64Rau]. No intermediate phases exist. Because of insufficient data, especially above the monotectic temperature associated with the miscibility gap, the assessed phase diagram shows only approximate phase boundaries and is based primarily on the work of [59Rud] and [64Rau]. These boundaries have been based, in part, on a simple thermodynamic model, which has been derived on the basis of the closest possible consistency with the experimentally observed details. 59Rud: A.A.
