Au-Mo

Au-Mo (Gold-Molybdenum) T.B. Massalski, H. Okamoto, and L. Brewer The equilibrium phases in the assessed phase diagram of the Au-Mo system are ( 1) the liquid, L; (2) the fcc terminal solid solution, (Au), having the maximum solid solubility of about 1.25 at.% Mo in (Au) at the eutectic temperature of 1054 с 3 C; and (3) the bcc terminal solid solution, (Mo), having the maximum solid solubility of about 0.4 at.% Au in (Mo) at ~2150 C. The Au-Mo phase diagram is a simple eutectic with no intermediate phases as indicated previously by [Hansen], based on the work of [24Dre] and [53Gea]. The eutectic temperature was estimated as 1054 C by [53Gea] and 1058 C by [ 60Rau]. The diagram shown is taken primarily from [Molybdenum]. Thin films of single-phase alloys having amorphous, fcc, or bcc structures can be prepared by vapor quenching [74Pil]. The observed structures appear to depend on the quality of vacuum and the substrate temperature. 24Dre: L. Dreibholz, Z. Phys. Chem., 108, 1-50 (1924) in German. 53Gea: G.A. Geach and E.
