Au-Hf

Au-Hf (Gold-Hafnium) H. Okamoto and T.B. Massalski The assessed Au-Hf phase diagram is based on the work of [62Sto]. The effect of the allotropic transformation of Hf at 1781 C on the form of the phase boundaries is not known. The liquidus curves have been drawn tentatively by assuming a close similarity to the Au-Zr system. The solid solubility of Hf in (Au) is between 5 and 10 at.% at 700 C [62Sto]. The solubility of Au in (Hf) is similar. A transition occurs between the high- temperature and low-temperature allotropic forms of bAuHf and aAuHf between 700 and 800 C [62Sto]. The high-temperature form, bAuHf, has a reported sizable solubility range. All other compounds in this system show no apparent solubility ranges [62Sto]. 62Sto: E. Stolz and K. Schubert, Z.
