Al-Pb

Al-Pb (Aluminum-Lead) A.J. McAlister Al-Pb is a simple system with three phases: (1) the liquid, L; (2) the fcc (Al) solid solution; and (3) the fcc (Pb) solid solution. Liquid immiscibility occurs below a critical point. Solid solubilities in (Al) and (Pb) are extremely small. The assessed phase diagram was obtained by a nonlinear least-squares optimization of model Gibbs energy functions. The available experimental phase boundary data exhibit considerable scatter [39Cla, 39Kem, 64Wil, 65Obe, 67Mar]. Thermodynamic modeling was performed with several parameters, and in general, agreement is satisfactory. 39Cla: W. Claus and I. Herrmann, Metallwissenschaft, 18, 957-960 (1939) in German. 39Kem: L.W.
