Al-Ba (Aluminum-Barium) R.P. Elliott and F.A. Shunk The assessed Al-Ba phase diagram is based on review of the work of [34Alb], [ 52Fla], [53Iid], and [75Bru]. The compound in equilibrium with Al-rich alloys is Al4Ba; [53Iid] reported the melting point of Al4Ba to be 1097 C. The Al- Al4Ba eutectic is at 651 C and 0.42 at.% Ba. No solubility of Ba in solid (Al) has been reported. The Ba-rich eutectic occurs at 72.0 at.% Ba and 528 C. [52Iid] reported that 5.4 at.% Al was soluble in solid Ba at the eutectic temperature.
