Ag-Er

Ag-Er (Silver-Erbium) K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood The assessed phase diagram for the Ag-Er system is based on the work of [69Geb] , with several adjustments. The melting point of pure Ag has been raised from 960.5 to 961.93 C and that of pure Er from 1500 to 1529 C, to agree with the accepted values of [Gschneidner]. The Ag-rich intermetallic compound is Ag51Er14, with a narrow solubility range [70Mcm]. The eutectic temperature for the Ag-Ag51Er14 subsystem (795 C) is based on [Gschneidner]. [69Geb] reported a temperature-dependent solubility of Er in (Ag), with a maximum solubility of 5 at.% at the eutectic temperature, and [70Gsc] reported the maximum solubility of Er in (Ag) to be 3.6 at.% Er. 69Geb: E.
